How It All Began

Blame our friends. In 2024 we spent December driving around to other people’s light shows, and somewhere between displays one of us said the dangerous thing out loud: we could do this.

We were newlyweds looking for a first big project to take on together. RJ has never met a hobby he didn’t immediately take too far. So “wouldn’t it be cool if” turned into months of planning, building, and learning far more about power injection than either of us signed up for.

We knew one thing early. It was going to be rock. Trans Siberian Orchestra first, then everything that shares that DNA.

Year One (2025)

2025 was our inaugural season and we ran it not entirely sure anyone would show up. Then a bus pulled up. Then another one. Kids were dancing out front, whole families arrived to share in the festivities. We were more than hooked.

Where We Are Now

2026 was go big or go home, and we’re still here, so you can guess which one we picked.

The show is more than three times the size it was last year. We went industrial on the props, which is a polite way of saying we stopped asking whether something was overkill. Over 22,000 lights, rebuilt from the ground up!

Our neighbors Rick and Leslie believed in this before there was anything to believe in. They gave us the confidence to go all in, and they’ve put up with a lot of test sequences at odd hours since.

The xLights community made the rest possible. It’s a group of people who share what they’ve figured out, answer questions from total strangers, and hand over work they spent months on because they’d rather see more shows exist. A huge amount of what runs in our yard traces back to something someone in that community taught us.

Jason Trammel gets his own paragraph. He’s helped us with sequences for years, and the show is better in ways you can actually hear because of it. Thank you.
